Had an "Oh my word no way!" moment today...

So my boss and I had to drive to Dallas and then come back to Austin today...her iPod was playing through her car and a song came up by a kid named Greyson Chance.  I went "HA! NO WAY!"   I was telling her how my book is called Taking Chances and one of the main characters is named Chase Grayson. So the song starts and not even ten seconds into the song, the lyrics say: "You're so afraid of taking chances..."  THAT was what made my "OH MY WORD NO WAY!" come out.

Seriously could not believe it! I named my character and my book MONTHS ago, hadn't heard of this kid until this afternoon and I thought it was just too funny and couldn't wait to tell the hubbs. I get home, show him his name and he's like "Huh...that's almost like your character's name, right?" I played the song and my husband was walking toward the closet, as soon as those lyrics started he turned around and his eyes went wide. He told me my book now has a theme song. Haha

Too fun. Here you go :) Greyson Chance - Waiting Outside the Lines

  2. OK just listened to the song and all i can say is that is the book theme song no doubt. Normally when I write I will listen to music for specific parts to get inspiration and this is like this song was written for your book. WAY TO COOL

  3. I saw/heard this kid on Ellen a while back and thought of him when I read the book. Weird coincidence! : )
